This was an interesting look, as if the hill were a chimney.

I was imagining a home-remodel and a painting above a sofa on a new wall, and images of horses popped into my mind, though I have never incorporated them into my artwork. I found some great images online, here is a quick sketch to get myself familiar with it.
Drawing the same thing many times helps with getting the right fidelity and also makes one notice tiny aspects of the lines and darks / lights, and as I’ve said before, I refuse to trace an image for a drawing (that becomes a painting).

I was about to transfer some fire wood from one location to another one closer to the wood burning stove (one of my favorite inventions ever) and was blown away by the site of various splashes of rainbow-color on several pieces of wood.

How beautiful is this?
Sometimes after a storm, the sun breaks through and the colors explode. I love the pools of water in this photo.

Migrating birds offer so many amazing sights at this time of year. Last weekend I happened to catch a formation that can only be described as a smile, perhaps even with a wink…
The photo on the left was a few seconds before the photo on the right.
Enjoy!

Saw these berries on a hike yesterday and thought of Easter egg chocolates, just amazing. I don’t recall seeing berries this color before, and this photo is not enhanced in any way.

With Game of Thrones all up in everyone’s mind these days, it was fun to spot this fly while on a hike.

Wider than a large human hand, biggest we’ve ever seen.

Certainly these two leaves seem to be a pair.
On a recent windy day my wife and I bought a kite in a drugstore and flew it on a hill in a nearby park. It was quite a bit of fun.
